The Ranfurly Trust exists for the benefit of discharged service men and women and their dependants, particularly those resident or eligible for residence in the Ranfurly Hospital and Veterans’ Home.
Ranfurly was founded under a deed of trust in 1903. The then Governor of the Colony of New Zealand the Earl of Ranfurly sponsored a National Patriotic Appeal to establish a National Memorial in Honour of the servicemen who laid down their lives in the South African War.
The Refurbishment of Ranfurly House will incorporate both public and private - public rooms for the retirement village on the ground floor and offices on the upper floor where welfare organisations will operate to provide services to the veteran community into the future.
